Grampian

Grampian's Logo in action.

Up to Scotland now, and Grampian. For many years the company used a short blast of Scotland The Brave as the basis of it's jingle, and the version introduced in 1985 is perhaps the only time that said tune could ever be described as 'funky'. But first here are the two early jingles.

Grampian 1960s -

Deng dede ding ding deng ding deng.

Grampian 1970s - 1985

Phlumumummmmm deng dededing ding deng ding deng phlumumumummmm!

The 1985 jingle was a lot more complex though, and we always shyed away from doing it. We just weren't brave enough but someone was. Billy Hicks came up with the goods for us, so here it is, the written version of the most funky sounding arrangement of Scotland the Brave you will ever hear. Sadly it was only used until 1989, when Grampian started using the ITV jingle, which it used until 1997.

Grampian 1985 - 1989

Din,der der der dur dur dor dor dor du der din din(whoosh)Dah,dah,Deng dede ding ding deng ding deng (do be do be do be DO!)
