Baltika and the state of beer in the UK

Posted on 28 July 2003 in Beer (No comments yet - be the first!)

Russian beer Baltika is coming to the UK. But out of the 10 possible versions of the stuff, it’s not the rather nice brown ale, the wheat beer or the divine porter. Nope. It’s the rather naff lager that will soon be hitting the bars of London. Yet another wasted oppertunity…

Eliza Carthy - Anglicana

Posted on 26 July 2003 in Music (No comments yet - be the first!)

There’s always a smug satisfaction about owning an album before it gets nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Far Too Easy JavaScript

Posted on 25 July 2003 in Internet, Planet Bods, Web Development (No comments yet - be the first!)

JavaScript that’s too easy? That’s a bit of a swizz isn’t it?

The End of Job Void

Posted on 24 July 2003 in Work (No comments yet - be the first!)

Having only had two permanent jobs in my entire life, I’d forgotten about that strange period of time as you begin to wind down in your current role and prepare yourself for the new one.

Hyde - a town in the news.

Posted on 15 July 2003 in Life (No comments yet - be the first!)

Hyde has now become linked with serial killings. It’s very odd to see your home town seen that way.

Futurama

Posted on 13 July 2003 in TV Programmes, Television (No comments yet - be the first!)

Futurama is good, Futurama is great.

Magnolia

Posted on 13 July 2003 in Entertainment (No comments yet - be the first!)

Magnolia is apparently ‘astonishing’ and ‘powerful’. Personally I thought it was too long and a bit dull.

Jumping on the Bandwagon

Posted on 11 July 2003 in Internet (No comments yet - be the first!)

It’s time for a new direction - a new bandwagon to jump on. Who would have thought that Google would provide so well…

Champagne Charlies, Charing Cross

Posted on 10 July 2003 in Pubs (No comments yet - be the first!)

It was a very hot day. The kind of day where after work you want a nice cool pint, in a pleasantly chilled cellar bar, where there is sawdust on the floor, and the beer comes in pewter tankards…

Mac IE5 problems fixed.

Posted on 9 July 2003 in Planet Bods (No comments yet - be the first!)

Small bug fix to Bods Central’s design means Mac IE5 users will see it properly. Should they care anyway.

Chips from a vending machine? Sometimes you just have to try these things. Why, who knows, but you do.
