Anatomy of Search Results

Every week I get a sample of the searches made via the Bods Central search engine, sent to me in an email.

I must confess I find this to be a fascinating read - sometimes I look at them and just wonder what planet some people are on.

Take a look at this selection from last weeks searches:

‘Bods for CS’

CS? Counterstrike? Computer Science? Conditional secrets? Eh? I’m confused!

‘chanson espagnole’

A soprano showpiece which is Delibes’s most popular song. Apparently. I’ve never heard of it and I’ve never heard of Delibes. And I really don’t know why someone would be looking for it on here.

‘decapitation’

Err… Okay…

‘gay men’

Am I supposed to be keeping a directory of them?

‘old bell’

Sounds like a pub to me, but I’ve never heard of it.

‘upgrading graphics cards’

What am I? Some kind of DIY computer tutorial expert?

‘manchester time table for trains’

And when I’m not explaining computers to people, I’m their first call for the first train from Newton for Hyde to Manchester Piccaddilly am I?

You do have to wonder…

Have your say
