Entries from February 2005
- 26 February 2005: The Commute
- There’s more to life than travelling to work…
- 21 February 2005: First Day In The Broadcasting Centre
- I’m now working in a building that can - in theory - broadcast 500 TV stations at once. But the light switch doesn’t work.
- 20 February 2005: Glass Breaking
- Can there be anything more frustrating than struggling home from Ikea with a new, large picture frame, then breaking it almost as soon as you step into your own front door?
- 18 February 2005: So Long, Bush House
- Five years after I first set foot in the place and I’ve just left Bush House for the final time.
- 17 February 2005: Can you just say that again?
- One of the comments I’ve heard a lot of the last few days is "you sound
terrible. Go home and put your feet up". Which is ironic given that overall, I’m feeling fine - it’s just that I’ve completely lost my voice!
- 14 February 2005: Note to self…
- Always remember that trying to contact verbally with someone on the phone is pretty fuitile when you have lost your voice and can’t particularly make yourself be understood very well even when someone is stood right in front of you, yet alone at the other end of a crackily phone line.
- 14 February 2005: Silence
- Just when things seemed to be getting better… I have now lost my voice. Oh and a bit of my tooth has disappeared.
- 13 February 2005: Cough Cough, Splutter Splutter Argh
- I’ve tried to keep things on a usual level without descending into becoming moaning and winging but I’m afraid I’m having difficulty now. It’s been a week since this bug started attacking me and to be blunt, I’ve had enough.
- 11 February 2005: BBC, Wedding and Complaints
- One thing has to be said - the internet can be a very powerful tool for finding information. But you’ve got to exploit the medium - make the most of it. The BBC until recently has been a bit, well… traditional in its approach, but times are changing especially with the arrival of two more websites from the organisation dealing with complaints.
- 11 February 2005: Tape Playing
- Some of the tapes in my collection are probably getting on for 15 years old, and with the DVD collection expanding all the time, I thought it was about time I sifted through some of the VHS tapes cluttering up the shelves - watch through them to see if there was anything worth saving, and binning the rest.
- 10 February 2005: Vive La Revolution
- Out of the entire BBC News at One, there was only five minutes of actual news - the rest of the programme taken up with hoardes of journalists talking about a bloody royal wedding.
- 8 February 2005: Things I Dislike
- Some things I currently dislike.
- 3 February 2005: Electrical Borgness
- I keep feeling I should take a picture of my desk at work for prosperity. I think it’s becoming a piece of art. Perhaps it’s the way that it’s filling up with an ever increasing plethora of set top boxes.
