Bent Travel
There’s a point in everyones life where they leave something important in their trousers when they’re bunged in a washing machine, which is why my Oystercard now has a noticeable bent in it.
It’s not the first time I’ve managed it - in the past I’ve found out that the old paper annual season tickets worked perfectly well after being in a 40° colour wash as well, so I’m hopeful that the Oystercard will be fully functional in its new shape.
Indeed thusfar London Travelcards seem to be pretty indestructible. Far cry from a Metro ticket I got in St. Petersburg which was made out of such a brittle plastic that I’d managed to snap it after using just two of the ten journies loaded on it - and getting a replacement meant visiting some hidden office in downtown between the hours of 3:30 and 4am on a Sunday remembering of course to take a urine sample to cooroborate your claim, or something equally ridiculous. Still at something like 10p a journey, replacing it wasn’t exactly costly…
