BBC New Media brands

Having had a few similar conversations on this recently...

the BBC website

Originally called BBC Online.

In November 2001 became BBCi in a blaze of glory by some fingers bouncing around with heads on.

Since May 2004, called bbc.co.uk with a name launched in a blaze of glory, by a man running round in a white suit.

BBC digital text services

Originally called BBC Text.

In November 2001 became BBCi in a blaze of glory.

Still called BBCi but with a different logo.

BBC interactive TV programmes

Originally used programme brands.

In November 2001 became BBCi in a blaze of glory by some fingers bouncing around with heads on.

Since March 2005, branded using the programme brands again.

And that's the simple version. The marketing speak version probably talks about masthead, primary and secondary brands. Or somet. Maybe.
