Moving The Type

Posted on 20 October 2005 in Web Development (No comments)

For well over a year or so, I've been working, in my spare time, on a content management project for the erstwhile Transdiffusion - a project which has, ultimately, resulted in the neglect of this blog, the upload of my photos and goodness knows what else.

On the plus side (if you can call it that) I know have detailed knowledge of around 16 different Movable Type plugins, and every feature request seems to result in another set being installed. I even ended up writing my own plugin, which I'll maybe get round to releasing once I've signed the old BBC conflict of interest forms anyway (the BBC uses Movable Type in a few places, such as backstage.bbc.co.uk so its a case of playing things very safe more than anything else). That said, don't get too excited. It isn't that great a piece of Perl!

It's ironic in a way, but all the work and effort has been far worse than what I did to move The F-Word to Movable Type - a project of such kind which I secretly said I'd never attempt again. But then, where would the challenge be if I didn't? Life would be such a bore if I didn't have some mad, insane little project to keep me busy with.

Honest.
