Entries from November 2005
- 30 November 2005: Priorities
- So it’s a week off for me. And Catherine’s off too. And we haven’t exactly done much, bar eating out at lunch a few times, and me going to the gym a lot.
- 27 November 2005: No Spam Attacks Today
- So the new web forms survived their first email injection attack. Should really get the new script rolled out on the rest of the site now I suppose.
- 27 November 2005: Late Night Drinking
- So there I was, sat in a pub having a few pints. We left about 12:30, despite the pub opening for another 30 minutes and with me having drunk a whopping pint more than I normally would. And we managed to get home without causing one fight, and without throwing up on any pavement. Or anywhere for that matter.
- 24 November 2005: BBCi Happenings (Part 2)
- It feels like just as I’m winding down slightly at work in preperation for having next week off (hurray!), the launches and the changes have been ramping up! Yesterday it was removing TV and Radio listings, today it was improving them as we relaunched our What’s On Service on DTT (or Freeview if you must).
- 24 November 2005: BBCi Happenings (Part 1)
- On Wednesday we killed off the TV and radio listings on the satellite version of BBCi.
- 22 November 2005: Letters to the Editor
- Oh yes, it’s time for another dip into the wierd and wacky world of Andrew’s inbox as we take yet another exciting trawel through the Letters to the Editor!
- 22 November 2005: Vegetarian Iceland
- In August 2005 myself and Catherine went on holiday to Iceland. However there’s one thing that makes any travelling vegetarian nervous, it’s the issue of food. In a special guest post (cos she doesn’t have her own blog), I’ve allowed Catherine to fill up the server with a post about it.
- 21 November 2005: Agendas, Newspapers and Trains
- I love a good piece of unbiased, non-partisan, well researched reporting from my news sources. Which is why I tend to avoid This Is Local London.
- 19 November 2005: Iceland 2005 (Day 10)
- On 19 August 2005 Catherine and myself flew out to Iceland for a ten night touring holiday round Iceland. We drove round the country and saw many an exciting and interesting thing. This is one of many blog posts about that holiday - it’s our final day, we’re in Reykjavik and by the end of the day, will be back in London.
- 19 November 2005: New Email Form
- It’s with a sense of trepidation that I today reactivated the first of my PHP built webforms since the email injection attack on my site nearly three weeks ago. Ever since then, I’ve had an ever increasing number attempts on the Hitoplive based forms which remained. None successful of course, but it’s meant that I’ve been a little cautious about unleashing my new script on the world.
- 17 November 2005: Licensing Reform
- Nine times out of ten, the pubs that are currently causing the problems have late licenses already. Stopping the licensing reforms won’t cause a single change to the hassles that the police have to contend with because the problem is there now and won’t change.
- 17 November 2005: The Prisoner. Remade?
- It’s one of those news stories that just makes me shake my head and ask… why? For today I read that Granada are planning on remaking The Prisoner.
- 13 November 2005: Must Have Cyber Figure
- The new look Cybermen have so obviously been reading the Daily Mail…
- 13 November 2005: Grr, Computer, Grr
- Well that’s it. The answer is clear. I’m buying a new PC.
- 13 November 2005: Finally Rebranded
- I totally missed this cos no one actually told me, but finally it’s complete. Yes, the new BBCi bridge launched on NTL’s Bromley network on Tuesday 8 November - a whole six months after it went out on Telewest.
- 8 November 2005: Doctors
- I’ve had a bit of a sore arm all day thanks to the annual flu jab, which I got from the doctors last night. I say annual - in reality it’s the first one I’ve had in about four years as I keep forgetting, which usually results in being told off by my doctor. As I’m asthmatic, they seem to think these things are vaguely important.
- 5 November 2005: New Look Blog
- Today sees a new look for this humble blog. After over three years of the purple and blue, in one form or other, it’s gone. In its place, a simpler, more subdude design, with a photo at the top. And why not?
- 3 November 2005: Iceland 2005 (Day 9)
- On 19 August 2005 Catherine and myself flew out to Iceland for a ten night touring holiday round Iceland. We drove round the country and saw many an exciting and interesting thing. This is one of many blog posts about that holiday - it’s now day 9, our penultimate day on the holiday, and we’re back on the road to Reykjavik
- 1 November 2005: A String Of Expletives
- Thanks to the script/person who hacked a webform on planetbods.org this evening and started using it to send out junk email to goodness knows who. Enjoy rotting in hell once you and your moronic kind have finally killed off the internet once and for all.
