26 June 2006: Sound, Oh Lovely Sound!
Well I finally have persuaded Ubuntu Dapper to give me sound. After delving around in the depths of the Ubuntu forums, I finally found a thread where someone had realised the issue was a faulty sound module in the Ubuntu default kernels. One roll your own kernel later, and here I am with sound! As I type, I’m blasting out some Sigur Rós in celebration!
20 June 2006: So long mycokemusic.com, and get stuffed
This morning I received an email from mycokemusic.com telling me the service will be shutting down at the end of July. Can’t say I’m guttered.
19 June 2006: Dapper Dodginess
Well since by last post about going to Ubuntu Dapper things have changed.
19 June 2006: Merton - Nelson, abbey ruins and a great big dockoff evil tower
When I lived in Ealing, it was hard to miss the impact the town had had on the world. The white painted brickwork of Ealing Studios were there every time I walked down St. Mary’s Road. It’s taken me some time (well two years in the area), and I’ve been slowly but surely discovering more and more about where I live now - Merton - whose secrets are a bit more hidden.

Well it’s been over a year since my last rant about the Alliance and Leicester’s incompetance, and you may be glad that this will be the last one ever. For today the last accounts were closed.
8 June 2006: Ubuntu Goes Dapper
Last night I left the computer ugrading itself up to the latest version of Ubuntu. Okay I didn’t quite leave it to do everything - actually I had to sort it out a few times in the middle of the night, but that’s only because I was checking it whilst I was struggling to sleep due to the heat.
4 June 2006: Hanging Baskets and Saving Water
We’re in a drought situation. The reservoirs are not exactly in a good state and Thames Water have already instigated a hosepipe ban. So I confess to being in a bit of a quandry about whether we should have hanging baskets this year. After all they take up a lot of water.
2 June 2006: Tories Advocate ‘Banning Tax Enforcement’
There’s a wonderful story in the Telegraph today about how Council Tax inspectors turned up at the Big Brother set to asses whether the inmates should be paying Council Tax.
