“It is nothing short of a disgrace that the government has cut the funding for Rape Crisis Centres in London" said Boris Johnson in his election manifesto, promising to fund three new centres by getting rid of some press officers (thus funding it by recession-proof ways). So there’s a certain irony in that he’s now decided not to bother. True he’s not cutting funding – just not increasing it…
