Am I the only one who doesn't want to live their entire lives in the cloud? I actually like having files on my hard disk where I can get at them when, inevitably, the wireless breaks down!

For a very brief moment when I read this, I thought they meant Centre Court shopping centre in Wimbledon town centre! Which would have been a frankly stupid choice really...

Interesting piece which includes various charts which show projections at what might happen to the population if there was high migration or low migration. As the author says "every outcome will leave someone worried or unhappy."

Some think the proposed commercial/BBC radio player might not be that easy to get off the block. It's not going to be a doddle, but I'm less sceptical than PaidContent who compare it to the recent failed attempts to share iPlayer technology. The two propositions are quite different for my money.

It's clearly not going to satisfy many people, but frankly anyone who thinks Jonathan Ross's salary is ever going to be unveiled in the next few years is - to be blunt - rather deluded. In the long term the BBC could make salary revelation contractual but for it to work, and for it to be fair, it needs all its on screen staff on such a contract. But whilst this, and other publications of salary information, have been used by many as a rod to beat the BBC with, the BBC should - in my mind - be praised for embracing such openness on a level rarely seen before. And what on earth is this obsession with "the Prime Minister's salary"? He might be low paid in comparison but he gets two free houses (one in a Central London gated community), free food and drink, all his bills paid for, free transport... If he had to pay for all those things, he'd be earning a LOT more.

Have your say
