A Year of Train Travel - the raw data
In 2009 I collected all my train tickets together. You can read all about it in my blog post on the subject. However if the stats above haven't bored you to death, here's the full data of all my national rail journeys from 2009.
Note: some tickets are labelled as "Boundary Zone 3" - this is because I have a Travelcard covering zones 1-3 in London, so at the ticket office the fare starts from the edge of zone 3. I explained all this in my 2005 post, Saving Money on the Trains. Where a ticket is labelled as Boundary Zone 3, I have noted it as such. The journey itself was usually started at Wimbledon or East Croydon. But not always.
Also noted is Gold Card usage - annual season tickets in the South East are also railcards and you get a third off off peak trains. They're also explained in the above post, and labelled as (Gold).
And the final note is that sometimes you'll see odd looking single journeys. These are generally when I've been out for a walk. For example, the first two journeys are from a walk from Sunningdale to Windsor. In the morning we got a return from Sunningdale. Now Staines is where the train lines to Windsor and Eton Riverside, and trains towards Sunningdale split. So my return ticket covered from Staines, but not the bit from Windsor - hence a second ticket.

Notes
- Scotrail offers a discount on first class single sleeper tickets to BBC staff. It's part of the BBC's drive to encourage staff to take the sleeper rather than fly. The deal was done for business use, however is also available to staff for leisure purposes and can be used on any of the Caledonian Sleeper routes - including the lovely Fort William route. - Yes, if you are a licence fee payer, you paid for this one! However I did save you money by staying with my parents overnight rather than in a hotel...Back to the table.
- Combined train and ferry ticket. Train journey was London to Holyhead. Weekend First upgrade was for the train journey only. Back to the table.
