London Weekend Television (LWT)

As the company name suggests, LWT broadcasts during the week to Northern Ireland. Not really! The power... of... suggestion! Our trip to the LWT world takes us to their humble beginnings - and their second and third jingles. The two idents were very similar but the jingle was changed when it went from black and white, to a very tasteful orange.

Next on our trip to the world of LWT takes us to the 1970s when they first introduced their multi-coloured ribbons ident and when they were still called London Weekend.

LWT 1970s -

Ding dun den din ding da ding da ding palalaaaa (bala) palalaaaa (bum bum).

Moving forward to modern times and after ditching the 1999 ITV Generic Ident, LWT went for a different jingle, which in May 2000 morphed into this little ditty:
